This is my spare set of AR9 speakers. They feature dual 12 inch woofers, 8 inch mid bass, a midrange and tweeter. Super accurate midrange and awesome tweeter. I have heard nearly every AR speaker made except the AR-LST These are the best I have heard. These speakers represent the Pinnacle of Acoustic Research engineering and performance. I doubt there are many speakers that can go as Low in frequency as these dual 12 inch woofer ar9’s. I have run these in my garage for about 1 year now. I just need space to work and its time to thin it out a bit. I got these locally, and the foams were ok…… Seem good for a long time. The refoam job was a little sloppy, but they all function fine. I recapped them using Dayton NPE caps. These speakers will handle all the power you can put to them. How do I know? I have put 750 watts peak to my MAIN pair in the living room with my Carver TFM 42 amplifier. They remained clean and clear sounding and absolutely no damage occurs. Better amps deliver clean power without clipping, and these will take all you got. Grills are not in great condition. Front grills had new fabric installed by previous owner, and he lost the side grills. I have ar-90 side grills on them, which fit, but they need new fabric. Cabinets are in decent shape, with a few scuffs, scratches and bumps from previous owner moving them around over the years. The cabinets are solid and still look nice.
