This is a vintage pair of Acoustic Research AR-3 loudspeakers in very good working condition. Both speakers were tested and produce music. These impressive speakers were well loved by an avid audiophile since originally acquired decades ago, and were used with the care and respect they deserve. Woofer surrounds are still flexible and have some discoloration but with no visible cracking. The original grills are intact but the fabric starting to show some fraying around the edges. An end of one of the grill frames has a crack and could benefit from reinforcement to straighten, but it still holds the fabric. The cabinets are in good condition and beautiful, although each has a couple of small chips in the veneer and minor scuffing. Scarce in condition this nice, these speakers represented ground-breaking design when introduced, and still sound great today – pick them up while you can.
