Ultra Rare Acoustic Research AR 9 LSI in walnut veneer. All woofers (12 inch, 10 inch, 8 inch) have been refoamed. I have gone full NPE on these now, the sound is smooth and no fatigue. New bass chamber foam. There may be 1 small scratch on these somewhere, but I dont see it……. Like a showroom set from 1985. These AR9 LSI speakers are flat out incredible. Deep Lows, incredible Bass slam, smooth in all areas, and really nice tweeter output. They work best with high power amplifiers (ie carver, adcom, Krell, macintosh), but if low level listening is your objective, the yamaha rx series receivers sound nice. Incredible detail in all areas, no listener fatigue whatsoever. I run the carver 4.0 with these. These will produce incredible detailed sound at high levels of volume, if you choose. Of course, Good high powered amps are needed for this. These speakers produce so much bass that you will never need a subwoofer. These rival my ar9’s now, and beat it in some area’s. The AR LS series are underrated, there is NO 3 way that can come close in detail, I have owned and still own many of the ar speakers…. Which include the ar3a, ar11, ar58s…. And I have owned the ar90, and many others. None come close to the superior accuracy of the ar9 series in full range accuracy. These are 130 lbs and require a van or large hatchback car to transport.
