These Acoustic Research AR3a speakers have been tested and are in excellent functioning condition. The original mid and high frequency. Potentiometer pots have been replaced with new wirewound pots (see picture #4). All of the original mounting screws for the woofers have been replaced with stainless steel hex socket screws. The fabric on both grilles has been replaced. A previous owner installed new foam surrounds. Both of the new surrounds have overlapped seams which do not appear to leak any air or affect the functionality of the woofers. Their are a couple of minor aesthetic differences between the two speakers. One of the metal mesh grilles over the mid-range domes is painted black and the other is bare metal. Also, one of the woofer cones is slightly lighter in color than the other as shown. Cosmetically, they possess normal signs of age and previous use (see pictures). Manufactured: 1973 – 1974.
