This is one pair of Acoustic Research AR-3 Vintage Matching Speakers bought new by me at the same time in 1963 or1964. The serial number on one is 05601, but the paper with serial number on the other is missing, but they were bought as a pair. They have not been used for the past 20 years, and I recently powered them up to check them out. The woofers fired up immediately and sounded as you would expect, but both mid range and tweeters were intermittent or with no sound at all so I assume the pots will have to be cleaned or replaced because when I last used them over 20 years ago they sounded perfect. They have never been worked on or opened, except for the grill, and they have resided in a smoke and pet free home since new. Both cabinets are in very nice condition with few scratches or marks, The grill cloth is the original but is not in good condition and should be replaced and one grill cloth frame is cracked but should be easy to repair.
