For sale pair of Acoustic Research AR4X 2 way speakers. They have the early more desirable Alnico magnets on the bass drivers, also the cloth surrounds which does not perish. I had to get to the troublesome rheostats which oxidise and then stop the tweeters from working. Following info from the web I have resoldered the rheostats so they are still in line but the tweeter has a direct connection, this way the tweeters will give a good strong solid sound without trouble. The cabinets are in amazing condition with one notable faded part, but in whole they gorgeous and superb for their age. They grille has some small tears where I had to remove them, both badges are present. For those who dont know AR Speakers are renowned for giving a very natural neutral sound, they give great imagery and sound far greater that their humble appearance.
