Acoustic Research AR Classic Model 8 Speakers, Very Clean Sound Great. These are really nice speakers made in the early 1990s. I’ve had these for 3 years, using them off and on. I hesitate to use the word rare, because it gets used on here a lot, but these truly are hard to find speakers. I’ve seen some from this product line, but not very often. The first obvious unusual thing about them is the tweeters are below the woofers. The woofer is an 8-in and the tweeter is a 3-in. The surrounds on the woofers appear to be rubber, so they’ll last a long time. They are 23 in tall, 10 1/2 in wide, 14 in deep. Each speaker weighs 31 lb. The flaws they have are a few picks and holes on the grills, but you don’t notice it unless you get close up to them because it’s a black background behind the grill. A couple of the corners have some dings but again not noticeable unless looking up close. They have been in an air conditioned house since I’ve had them. They come from a smoke-free home.
