For sale is a pair of Acoustic Research AR4x speakers. The serial numbers are FX152631 and FX152666. I listened to them for 45 minutes and they sounded great. The tweeter adjustment on S/N 631 is pretty rough (this is common for early Acoustic Research speakers) and I had to work it a bit to find a spot where the tweeter was working correctly. After that, they sounded as they should. One of them is missing the front badge. The cabinets are in very good condition, with minimal scratches, chips, and dented corners. The grill cloth appears to be original, but they both have some staining, and someone has lightly written on them with a Crayon. These speakers appear to never have been opened.
