For sale is a rare Acoustic Research AR1 speaker system, particuarly famous for its use of an Altec / Western Electric 755A 8 speaker. Unfortunately, I’m unable to take the speaker out to see which version or brand this one uses. Cosmetically, this AR1 isn’t in the best of condition. It shows definite wear including nicks, scratches, chips, fading and, unfortunately, the grill cloth has come loose. This will need repairing and can be seen in the photos. Functionality wise, the speaker has been tested and emits good sound. I’ve taken enough photographs so you can judge the condition of this item for yourself, they’ll do a better job of illustrating its condition than I ever could.
